Getting an Edge on Latest Graphic Design Technology
You may have natural artistic talent. However, you may not know what types of graphic arts technology is available to you today.
If you are planning to take the field of graphic design seriously, you need to know what the type design programs are out there. You will also need to know how they will benefit you.
There are several different types of graphics and animation programs that you can work with. The top-level ones include those made by Adobe, Corel, and QuarkXPress.
These companies typically offer graphics software that is categorized in one of three basic ways:
Photo Editing-These programs allow you to enhance the quality of you photos. You can make them look the way you want them to look. Furthermore, you can adjust settings such as light and shadow, color and contrast, and numerous other variables. You can also use photo editing programs to cut and crop images to place together to form a whole new graphic image.
Furthermore, you can duplicate portions of images in certain programs. This helps you create a continual effect in photos. For instance, perhaps there is a tree branch in the way of part of someone’s facial features.
You can learn how to literally take that tree branch out of the picture. Instead, some photo programs will allow you to see right into that person’s eyes.
Drawing-Many professional graphics programs feature drawing tools. Often these are used in conjunction with photo editing programs. However, these can also be used to created new images. Furthermore, these drawings are often converted into 2D or 3D animation.
Animation-Numerous graphics programs help you design animated products. You can create Flash banner ad, full-length movies, or construct interactive content. Furthermore, you can convert animated files into a variety of different formats for online and offline use.
Now, you may be wondering why graphics programs cost as much as they do. The reason why is because they offer you many more tools that certain free programs.
If you have ever been frustrated with free graphics, drawing and photo editing software you will understand why you need more advanced tools. As a budding professional, you will want to be able to cut out images precisely.
As equally as important, you want be able to cut objects to the shape you need them and place them on backgrounds without any flaw. Furthermore, you want to be able to turn heads and objects to the exact angle you need them to be in the photo.
None of the free basic programs will do that for you. If you cannot afford loads of money for programs, however, premium programs do not need to cost you every dime you have.
For instance, Photoshop Elements is offered, which has many of the same features as the full-blown Photoshop. There are other free animation and Flash trials and programs you can try as well.
You would be surprised what you will find when you look. Some generic programs have many of the same function as the brand name software and at a fraction of the cost.
Before you invest, however, make sure what you are purchasing is worth it to you. It would be very unfortunate if you invested in a program you don’t need or a program that is too far outdated.
Every graphics design and photo editing program is a little different. It is advisable that you try out a few quality programs and decide which one will work for you.
You may even decide a couple of different programs in conjunction with one another. This will help provide maximum results for less money in some cases. However, if you can it is recommended that you use an entire suite of products that you know will work well together.
